I used floods this time. I thought they were tungsten light, but I realized after a few test shots I was using lights made to be used with photo umbrellas. I loved how bright the 300 watt bulbs were but the shadows didn't have much detail or color. The reds don't glow in the photo like they do "in person". I made a make shift studio set up at my girl's place and painted all night. She wasn't feeling well, so that is why I was at her place. The actual painting went pretty fast. The model was really "Egon Shiele" looking to me. She also reminded me of the illustrator's work that did all the faeries that everyone has seen and yet I can't remember his name at all! I bought a really nice print of his at a comic book store in Paris this summer. The model was Joey Hardcore from the Gotham Roller Derby girls. She was wearing rollerskates the whole time. The knee pads were very real and effective.
